APRIL 2008 UPDATE FROM CARRIE BURNS ON HER MANTLE MAFIA:

The "Westside Boyz" took it on the road this spring and ran a few events
in Vegas and AZ. Voltaire showed that he could "gamble" like his uncle by
finishing his Novice Fast title and getting legs in NADAC Chances. Orion
responded by bringing his A game--racking up the Qs in jumpers and FAST
and showing the old guard can still bring it.

Summer break is just around the corner and the Boyz are going to expand
their horizons by working sheep, tracking in the woods, and kicking back.

Voltaire is now:

Orion is now:

Chroma Orion of the Red Bluff RE, CDX, NA, AXJ, OF, AJ, AG, SR, SS, OAC, OGC, O-EJC, and HIC

The "VOLTAGE" dog, aka our "Beasty Boy" has done himself fine on his AKC agility debut, racking up back-2-back Q's in Jumpers, and then double Qing to get legs in both FAST and Standard. His Standard time was 17 seconds under! Zoom, ZOOM!<G> Look for Carrie Burns and her Mantle Mafia at trials out west!

UPDATE THRU THE FIRST OF MARCH:
The end of Feb and start of March turned out to be a Fiesta of titles, legs, and other achievements for the Chroma-west crew:

*Sharie and her "Rock"star endured the heat in true AZ style to finish his RN. Trial conditions were tough with temps near the 90s and the Rally ring was literally surrounded by Breed, Obedience, and Agility. She did get a nice photo with the judge, so we are anxiously awaiting it's arrival.

Orion managed to squeeze in three more open titles before he turned six. He had a nice jumpers run to get his 3rd USDAA Advanced Jumpers leg and title. He also "saved my bacon" in true Orion style on a tough gamble to finish his USDAA Advanced Gamblers Title. So now he'll be competing in masters jumpers and gamblers. Finally, on a tricky Dan Dege course, he nailed the send to finish his Open Fast title. The Q rate for this course was around 15%

Voltaire gets special applause for his agility endurance. He ran a full USDAA Dog Agility Masters tournament, plus individual events, and followed it up by a 4 day AKC show. We had our wild moments but overall he ran some great courses, gathered more legs, and finished his rally (RN) title as well. "Carrie"

Shown above with his breeder at 6 months (at the National) taking the 6-9 Mantle class, while there he also took a 4th in a competitive (all color) 6-9 class at the supported GDCAz shows , and has since been in the Winner's Circle repeatedly & has minor points and a major Reserve.
