Shown below is PIRATE aka the GDCA Hall of Fame and Versatility Award winning veteran, Group Winning, Specialty Best In Show CHAMPION CHROMA THIEF OF HEARTS CD RA OA AXJ OJC NAC TDIA CGC. CHIC#13779. Ranked in agility, obedience, rally and breed (a breed first), this is also our breed's first recognized "CHAMPION OF HEALTH" as well as also sire of champion & multi-titled get. Picabo & Pirate are also the first two Dane littermates ever titled in agility & they each had one of the top 5 ranked agility Danes seen at the December'07 AKC Agility Invitational; another breed first.

We are very serious about producing a working-style Dane, a dog that is structurally secure, mentally able, and correct in type: a Dane that can endure, oblige and look beautiful while doing it. We breed an "Heirloom" Dane--like the estate dogs of old. Dogs of classic type. Dogs who behave in public. Dogs who can live OFF the leash with grace and aplomb. Dogs who are good with other animals & generally smart and benevolent. Dogs who are innately empathic and intuitive with people. Dogs who can live a healthy decade offering companionship that is both low-maintenance & high in the happiness factor. Dogs who can also compete and win in various venues.We typically keep 2 pups from each litter to grow out (for ourselves to breed/show) & generally sell the rest of our litters on Limited as pet/performance companions. |

While we are happy to know that many appreciate our website & our philosophy about breeding Danes, it's less thrilling to see our photos, ideas, and words reproduced at other websites & then presented (sometimes verbatim!) as the work and ideas of other kennels. Imitation isn't really all that flattering & it's never authentic, so don't be fooled by a pale reflection or a 2ndary source that claims a connection not declared here. Given the increasing reliance placed on the internet in making connections, bear in mind it's not only buyers who are out "researching" breeders. So please do your research carefully when searching for a puppy & let the buyer beware; sales ability (like show wins) may mean a pretty presentation but doesn't guarantee a thoughtful breeding program.
